I have a landscaping business and get a ton of grass that I have to dispose of and thought about feeding it to my horses. I was told this isnt a good idea, is that true and if so, why?
Hi klondike, welcome aboard! I know that one reason that you wouldn't want to feed lawn clippings to a horse is that there may be chemicals present like fertilizers, pesticides, and so on. That would be bad for a horse!!!
Probably are other reasons, but I'm not sure of them.

Re: Fresh Grass
That is one reason that Kay gave (she gets a star) Also, grass tends to ferment quickly once it's severed from its root, some species of lawn grasses may actually be toxic to horses also. It's best not to risk it at all.
