The House of Equine, we love horses too!

The House of Equine, we're working for all horse lovers

Welcome to The House of Equine, located in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our goal is to provide a complete website to serve the online equine community. We offer a classifieds area, a community forums area, and an auction site. We are actively involved with horses, we ride almost everyday and we do allot of our own training as well. Horses are more than a hobby for us, it's a passion and that's why this web site exists. We thank you for stopping by and invite any comments or input that you may have.

Did you know?

That while the causes of founder are largely unknown, there are some circumstances that seem to induce founder. For example, black walnut shavings in a horses bedding can bring on founder very rapidly. A horse that gorges itself on grain is also susceptible to a founder attack. Even more alarming, a rich pasture of young plant shoots can bring on an episode of founder. Once a horse founders, they are more at risk of foundering again in the future. Founder seems to be more prevalent in large horse, overweight horses, and in stallions. The best treatment for founder is prevention.
